Alice Ione Machesney

Alice Ione Machesney, 80, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. She was born in Seneca Missouri on March 9, 1943, to the late Forrest and Lucile (Jaquay) Hoffman.

Alice worked as an aide at Deaconess Hospital and as a babysitter. She retired from the Evansville Protestant Home as a dietary aide after 17 years. She was an avid Pacers and Kansas City Chief’s fan, and she loved the Smokey Mountains. She will be sadly missed.

Alice was survived by her daughters, Sheryl Sanders (Andy Wood), Tamera Machesney; grandson, Sean Sanders; sister, Harriet Beth Russel; brothers, Bob Hoffman (Carolyn), Arthur Hoffman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest, and Lucile (Jaquay) Hoffman; infant brother, Forrest Hoffman; late ex-husband of 29 years, Roy James Machesney; brother, Allen “Dub” Hoffman; brother, John Hoffman; brother in-law, Tom Russell.

Alice’s wishes were to be cremated, there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
