Alice Pearl (Gray) Baumgartner of Evansville
Alice Pearl (Gray) Baumgartner, 92, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at
the Good Samaritan Home. She was born in Evansville on January 17, 1920 to the
late Walter and Eva (Newman) Gray.
She became a beautician and opened her own shop in the 40's. Alice loved to cook,
play cards, crochet, read books, and take walks. She also enjoyed swimming for
Relay for Life at Tri-State Athletic Club and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford M. Baumgartner in 1997; son,
Clifford Martin Baumgartner; one brother and three sisters.
Alice is survived by daughters, Kathy Chinn (Mike) of Newburgh and JoNell Turpin
(Ray) of Evansville; one son, David Baumgartner (Cindy) of Evansville; sister, Jane
Kleinschmidt of Grayville, IL; brother, Bill Gray of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren,
Brooke Hupmann (Sascha), Dina Reverman (Brad), Chris Chinn (Heather), Amanda
Wilson (Wes) and Anna Baumgartner; seven great-grandchildren, Austin and Noah
Fuchs, Owen Reverman, Noah Hupmann, Shelby, Gavin, and Keaton Chinn.
Our family would like to thank Dr. William Hardesty and his entire staff for the years of
loving care they gave to our mother and also the entire staff at the Good Samaritan
Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Home
or the Salvation Army Children's Toy Program.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Titzer Family Funeral
Homes ~ Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN.
Reverend Wes Wilson and Deacon Randy Kleinschmidt will officiate. Burial will be in
Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012
and Saturday morning, 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
