Arnold E. Smith, 65, of Elberfeld, Ind. passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at his home. He was born December 17, 1950 to the late Shelva and Cora Smith of Chandler. Arnold enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting with his sons and buddies. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He retired from Whirlpool in June 2000 after 40 years of service. Arnold was preceded in death by his sister, Lu Brannon; and brother, Eddie "Charlie" Smith. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane (Madden) Smith; daughter, Sarah Coker (Albert); sons, Kevin Smith (Tricia), Keith Smith, Mandi Schulz; grandchildren, Carter Smith, Carly Coker, Albert Coker IV, Addison Coker, Piper Margerison, and a grandchild due in late June; also, brother-in-law, Keith Brannon and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, Ind., (812) 983-4211. Rev. Steve Oeth will officiate and burial will follow in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
