Arthur Earl Halwes, 84, of Elberfeld passed away, March 1, 2011, at Cypress Grove Health & Rehab Center. He was born May 16, 1926, in Elberfeld, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil C. and Mabel J. (Mason) Halwes; brothers, Delmond H., Norman L.; sister, Inez M. Halwes; niece, Shala Halwes White. He is survived by Elvis Mason, uncle of Oakland City; Barbara J. Halwes, guardian & caregiver of Newburgh; Darvin C. Halwes, nephew & wife Vicki of Violet, LA. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Cypress Grove for their love and care. A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, (812) 983-4211, Rev. Mike Stoelting & Rev. David Schulz will officiate and burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Visitation is 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
