Bessie L. Johnson of Evansville Bessie L. (Ellison) Johnson, 95, passed away, Friday, August 12, 2011, at Heritage Center. She was born March 15, 1916, to Manford & Anna (Higgins) Ellison. She was a homemaker and attended Bible Center Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manford & Anna Ellison; her husband of 61 years, Bennie Lee Johnson, died 1995; a son, Stephen Lewis Johnson, died 1956; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; & 3 grandchildren. Bessie is survived by 6 sons, Kenneth Lee Johnson (Mary) of Norwalk, Calf., Robert Eugene Johnson (Kathy), Wilburn Wayne Johnson (Marilyn), Charles Manford Johnson (Kandi), Tony Lee Johnson, Jerry Alan Johnson (Sherry) all of Evansville; 3 daughters, Margie White (Wayne), Mary Reeder (Mike), Jeannie L. Myrick, all of Evansville; 1 sister, Martha Stewart of Carmi, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren. She was a loving wife and mother who touched many lives with her loving heart, strong spirit and deep faith. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Meyer Chapel, 100 E Columbia St, Evansville, Ind. (812) 424- 9288. Rev Tom Hubachek will officiate and burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
