Beth A. Lamar, 74, of Elberfeld, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 29,
2009 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
She was born September 18, 1934 in Elberfeld to Thomas and Ruby
(Sizemore) Mason. Beth was a graduate of Millersburg High School in 1952.
She was a Girl Scout leader for over 40 years during which time she served
as local cookie chairman. She was a life member of the Elberfeld American
Legion Auxiliary Unit 351 for 46 years. Beth enjoyed canning, freezing,
camping and sports especially the Saint Louis Cardinals.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Beth married Halleck E. Lamar on June 2, 1958 and he survives. Also
surviving are her three children, Debra Lynn Lamar at home, Ferdinand
Lamar (Susan) of Lebanon, Illinois, and Halleck Gene Lamar (Evelyn
Whelan) of Elberfeld; three grandchildren, Jason (Lauren), Justin and Brandi
Lamar; siblings, Geneva Holder of Elberfeld, Cletus Mason (Sylvia) of
Chandler, Betty Rentchler (Ed) of Elberfeld, Tom Mason of Evansville, Rhetta
Moore (Vic) of Perry, Georgia, Gary Mason of Elberfeld and many other
friends and family.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2009 at Titzer Family
Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, Indiana.
Pastor Steve Oeth will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park
Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2009 and Monday 10
a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
