Billie Ruth Daniels Lintz of Newburgh
Billie Ruth (Merritt) Daniels, Lintz, 83, passed away Thursday, January 3,
2013 at her Willow Park home in Evansville. She was born March 21, 1929
in Diamond, KY to the late Paul and Rozelle (Gardner) Merritt, the oldest of
seven children. She graduated from Reitz High School and was a waitress
and bartender for the American Legion Kapperman Post #44 in Newburgh
for several years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church. Billie was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary #44
and a past president. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of
Eagles #427, and Boonville VFW #3418. Billie enjoyed playing clabber
and bingo with her many friends.
Billie was preceded in death by her 1st. husband, Jack Barnes, 2nd.
husband, David Daniels, and 3rd. husband, John "Dick" Lintz; daughter,
Jackie (Barnes) Sheffer; siblings, James, Paul Gene, Carol, Linda, and
Kenny. She is survived by two sons, Curtiss Barnes (Gillian) of Boonville
and Donald Ray Barnes (Barbara) of Newburgh; five step-children, Donna
Seich, Debby and Benny Daniels, Roger Lintz, and LaRaye Higgs; brother,
Robert Merritt; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also
surviving, her lifelong friend, Mary Ann (Garrett) Kinney.
The family would like to thank the Protestant Home, the Senior Helpers at
Willow Park and Heritage Hospice. A special thanks to the management
at Willow Park Retirement Living.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday January 7, 2013 at Titzer Family
Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN with
Rev. Fr. Ted Tempel officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the
funeral home.
