Blanche (Kell) Schnitzer, 85, of Evansville, IN, passed away Sunday,
December 20, 2009 at Parkview Care Center. She was born July 30, 1924
to Bill and Lena (Higginbotham) Kell in Pocohontas, Arkansas. She was a
Christian.
She met her husband, Irv Schnitzer, in Evansville during WWII, when he was
stationed at Ft. Breckenridge, KY. They moved to New York in 1950. She
worked in retail as a buyer and salesperson for New York boutiques. In
1988, upon retirement, they returned to Evansville. Blanche loved cooking,
dancing and fashion. She enjoyed TV westerns and loved her family. She
was a member of the Eagles in Evansville and was a member of the
Cannoneers (WWII Fathers).
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Irv in 2002;
brother, Ralph Kell; nephew, Wayne Kell.
She is survived by her son, Frank Schnitzer and his wife, Fran of New York
City; two sisters, Charlene Stanley of Evansville and Betty Wykoff and her
husband, Don of Belleville, IL; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren,
four nieces and four nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN.
Brother Ronny Peavyhouse will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial
Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2009
and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
