Carl Henry Bond, 89, of Evansville, passed away, Friday, February 25, 2011 at his daughter's home in Indianapolis. He was born January 22, 1922 in Elberfeld to William and Gyneth (Morris) Bond. He graduated in1940 from Elberfeld High School. In 1942 he entered the United States Army serving during WWII in the European Theatre and the Battle of the Bulge with the 97th. Signal Battalion and was honorably discharged in 1946. His memberships included the American Legion, Funkhouser Post #8 and VFW #1114, Lifemember. During his childhood he attended Barnett Chapel Church in Elberfeld and later attended Harwood Baptist Church in Evansville. He retired after 44 years with the Bootz Manufacturing Company of Evansville and Paradise as a supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alberta (Duncan) Bond; daughter, Phyllis Arlene Bond; brother, Alpha Bond. Carl is survived by his daughter, Linda Allen (James), granddaughter, April Cramer (Eric), great-grandchildren, Abbagael and Grant Cramer all of Indianapolis; two brothers, James Bond (Peggy) and Ralph Bond both of Evansville; close friend, Hallie Fleeger of Evansville; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN. Burial will be in Barnett Chapel Cemetery in Elberfeld. Visitation will be Tuesday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Hospice, Indianapolis, IN.
