Carol F. Smith, 76, of Newburgh, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at her residence. She was born August 12, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to William T. and Nina (Slimpert) Jackson. Carol, a retired School teacher, graduated from Metropolis Community High School in Metropolis, IL in 1950, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL in 1954, and completed a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Evansville 1978. She taught in the Henderson County School Corporation for 21 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Richard Jackson; one sister, Doris Waters. Surviving Carol, her husband, Adrian Smith; daughter, Janet Jones (Dan) of Loveland, OH; son, Eric Smith (Erika) of Fishers, IN; sister, Wilma Sue Eberhart of Carbondale; two brothers, Robert Jackson (Mary Jane) of Peoria, IL and Joseph Jackson (Annie) of Metropolis; grandchildren, Adam and Lindsey Smith of Fishers.
