Caroline (Smith) Hormuth, 92, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away, Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born August 27, 1921, in Reed, KY, to Erwin Pat and Maude (Thomas) Smith. She retired from the Warrick County School Corp as a cafeteria worker at Castle High School. Caroline attended Townsend Bible Church. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, and loved working with crafts in bible school. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert Hormuth; and a son, Gilbert Hormuth, Jr. She is survived by her son, Douglas Ray Hormuth and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314. Pastor Mike Ward will officiate and burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, and 12 noon to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
