Charles Milton Schneider, age 84 years old of Newburgh, IN passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2002, at home from complications due to cancer. He was born on December 14, 1937, to the late James A. and Dorothy (Sullivan) Schneider.

Charles served in U.S. Air Force for 23 years, with both enlisted and commissioned time. He had assignments from Alaska to Germany. Charles received his Doctorate in Psychology from Ball State University. He had a thriving practice in Evansville for many years, oversaw substance abuse programs for various states, private hospital corporations, including St. Mary's and Deaconess Hospital. He was an active member of the Historic Newburgh, Inc (HNI) and helped establish the Ghost Walks, the Wine festival and other HNI events. Charlie loved Newburgh and all his friends. He was a long-time member of the Rotary International in Newburgh.

Charlie loved reading and would always challenge others to better themselves. He loved playing golf, especially with his good friends Randy Wheeler, Blake Larson, Bruce Carlson, Bill Green, and others. A close friend said, “His legacy will be his service to this community.” He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his son Brian Schneider (Gwynn), sisters Andi Martin and Stephanie Usselman and cousin Cheryl Hill

He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 59 years, Gay Schneider in 2020.

There will be no funeral services in accordance with his wishes. The family will have a small private service at a later date. The family would like to thank Deaconess Home Care for their services.
