Chester Frank Dunbar, Sr., of Evansville
Chester F. Dunbar, Sr., 91, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Heritage
Center.
He was born March 5, 1920. He was a retired laborer; a member of the Jehovah's
Witnesses Faith, a foster parent and was well known in the community as the
handyman", and a father to many. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years,
Blanche Dunbar, and two sons, Chester Jr., and Johnny Hughes.
Chester is survived by sons, Doug, Jeffrey (Darlene) Dunbar, and Stacy Hart, all of
Evansville, and Charles (Shirley) Dunbar, of Knoxville, TN; daughters, Corine Dodd,
Minnie Mann, Ruth, Linda, and Mable Dunbar, all of Evansville; a foster daughter,
Corrine Hooker, of Evansville; brother, Joseph Dunbar, of St. Louis; 32 grandchildren;
42 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,
and friends.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of The Heritage Center
for all your caring support.
A funeral service will be held, 3 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Titzer Family
Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E Columbia St., Evansville,
Indiana (812) 424-9274. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time. Burial at Sunset
