Clenneth C. Kohlmeyer, 90, of Elberfeld IN. passed away, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Evansville IN.
He was born November 11, 1933, in Elberfeld IN. to the late Alfred & Minnie (Silke) Kohlmeyer. He graduated from Elberfeld High School in 1951. He served in United States Army. Clenneth was a Shriner and a member of Scottish Rite of the Lynnville Lodge No. 396 for over 50 years. He was a member of New Jerusalem Community Church and was the Sexton of Northview cemetery for many years in Elberfeld. Clenneth served over 49 years as President of Mutual Insurance Association of Southern Indiana.
He and his wife Shirley were owner/operators of Kohlmeyer Farm Supply where it had been for years providing fertilizer, seed and other farm products.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley (Nelson) Kohlmeyer, sons, David Kohlmeyer, of Hoffman Estates., IL., and Darin (Erika) Kohlmeyer of Paris, IL., grandsons, Bryce of Indianapolis IN. and Bryan of Paris, IL, sister, Helen “Ellie” Nolen of Evansville IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the New Jerusalem Community Church, 125 1st. St., Elberfeld, IN. 47613. Burial to follow in Northview Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Elberfeld American Legion Honor guard.
A Celebration of life will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at his family business, Kohlmeyer Farm Supply, 10144 W. State Route Hwy 68, Elberfeld IN. and from 9 a.m. till service Thursday, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Jerusalem Community Church and/or Northview Cemetery.
