Clifford Oswald Betz, 74, of Boonville,
Indiana, passed away, Thursday,
June 26, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical
Center. He was born October 23, 1933
in Warrick County to Oswald Andrew and
Pauline Adelaide (Schnapf) Betz. He
graduated from Chandler High School in
1951. He attended Indiana College
of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis,
graduating in 1953.
Clifford worked for Barnett & Son Funeral
Home in Boonville for 18 years
and then as a trade embalmer for area
funeral homes for over 20 years. Mr.
Betz was an Indiana licensed funeral
director and embalmer for over 65
years. He also was elected coroner of
Warrick County and later worked for
the Warrick County Health Department and
the Indiana State Highway
Department. In retirement he worked for the
Asgrow Seed Company. Clifford
enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping,
fishing and loved being with his
family.
He was preceded in death by his father
Oswald A. Betz in 1975, mother,
Pauline A. (Schnapf) Betz in 1985, sister,
Lucille K. Cline in 2008, and
brother-in-law, Donald Cline in 2006.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 28 years,
Ramona J. (Fleming) Betz of
Boonville; children, Gregory C. Betz and
wife, Carol of Evansville, Graden
E. Betz and wife, Joan of Houston, Texas,
Greta L. Smith and husband, Joe
of Boonville, Tonya R. Dieterlen and
husband, Jeff of Mooresville, Indiana,
and Kerry W. Owen and wife, Cathy of
Boonville; seven grandchildren, Grant
Betz, 2nd. Lt. U.S. Army, Justin Betz,
Matthew Smith, Joey Dieterlen,
Patrick Dieterlen, Nick Owen, and Chelsea
Owen; several nieces, nephews,
and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.,
Monday, June 30, 2008 at St.
John's United Church of Christ, 123 N. 6th.
St. Boonville, Indiana. Pastor
Bob Shofner will officiate. Burial will be in
Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Miller & Miller
Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St.
Evansville, Indiana. Additional visitation will
be on Monday, 10 a.m. to
service time at St. John's UCC. in
Boonville.
