Clyde William Stratman, 77, went to meet His Lord and Savior, Monday, August 8, 2011, at Woodmont Health Campus, Boonville, Ind. Clyde was born to Edwin & Corine Stratman September 17, 1933. He graduated from Elberfeld High School. He met the love of his life, Rosemary (Menke) and they were married for 57 years. In the early years Clyde helped on his dad's farm and was superintendent at Swift and Company. Later he owned and operated Stratman Trucking Company. Clyde was a lifetime member of Zion United Church of Christ, Elberfeld, where he served as Church council president and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Elberfeld volunteer fire dept and of the Lynnville Masonic Lodge 396. Clyde served in the National Guard. And was also a member of the Hadi Shrine Temple where he was past President of the White Horse Patrol and member of the car club. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin & Corine Stratman. Clyde is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Menke); two sons, Bob (Kathie) Stratman, Glenn (Kim) Stratman; 1 daughter, Joyce (David) Hubert; 6 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; & 1 sister, Helen (Gerald) Akin. A special thanks to Pastor Rev. Rick Bender for all his prayers and visits. We are forever grateful to Bonnie Travelstad and Melanie Prados of Woodmont who cared for him with much love and compassion. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2011, at Zion United Church of Christ, 165 Elm Street, Elberfeld. Pastor Rev. Rick Bender will officiate and burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Sts., Elberfeld. A Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion UCC, Elberfeld.
