David Anthony Wendholt, 74, of Newburgh, IN passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway. He was born December 18, 1943 in Huntingburg to Anthony B. and Marie (Werner) Wendholt. David graduated from Memorial High School in 1961, he retired from Alcoa after many years, and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he was in the Men’s Club and was a longtime volunteer at Mother Theresa’s. David was awarded the Brute Award in 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charles Wendholt and Ruth Towne. David is survived by his wife, Diane (Nurrenbern) Wendholt; daughters, Christi Putman Altonen (Gene), Denise Hamilton (Mark); grandchildren, Sara and Rachel Putman, Jonathan and Collin Hamilton; step-grandchildren, Megan, Eric, and Ryan Altonen; and sister, Sue Welte (Gene). A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9 a.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh, IN. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314.
