Delbert Wayne Healy
Delbert Wayne Healy, 80, of Newburgh,
died April 4, 2008 at the
VNA-Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.
He was born January 26, 1928 in
Broughton, Illinois. Wayne attended Bosse
High School. He was a brick mason and
retired from Alcoa in 1992. He
learned his trade by serving as a brick
mason apprentice at U. S. Steel in
Gary, Indiana. He served in the U. S. Army
and belonged to the Newburgh
American Legion Kapperman Post #44, the
Newburgh Moose Lodge #2439,
Riverbend, Eagles, and Owls.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife,
Margaret (Schnapf) in 1992. Also
preceding him in death were his father and
mother, Seward and Clara Healy;
brothers, Bob and Carl; sisters, Martha
Luczkowszi, Shirley Harley, and
Mary Lou Hart.
He is survived by his children and their
spouses, Steve (Pam) Baker of
Evansville, Darrel (Patti) Healy of
Newburgh, Barbara (Steve) Fowler of
Newburgh, Scott (Carol) Healy of Chandler,
Dirk Healy of Newburgh, and
Brett (Rhonda) Healy of Chandler; siblings,
Earl Kendall, Aline Pike, and
Dorothy Meyer; nieces and nephews.
Wayne is also survived by grandchildren,
Sherri Young, Kayla Birdwell,
Michelle Hurse, Justin Baker, Sarah Baker,
Haley Fowler, Ashley Healy, and
Joseph Fischer; great-grandchildren, Justus
Diaz, Ryen Healy, Camren
Birdwell, Joshua Birdwell, Xander Hurse,
Conner Hurse, Kraig Young, and
Kristian Young.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday,
April 8, 2008 at Zion United
Church of Christ in Newburgh with burial in
Rose Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
Pastor Daniel Kennedy will officiate.
Visitation will be, Sunday, April 6, 2008, 3
p.m. to 7 p.m., and Monday,
April 7, 2008, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson
Chapel 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh,
Indiana, also visitation, Tuesday 9
a.m. until time of service at the church.
