Donald Ray Yeckering

Donald Ray 'Donnie' Yeckering, 72, of Owensboro, KY passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Owensboro Health Hospital.  He was born February 28, 1946 in Evansville to the late John Henry and Sarah Leona (Bass) Yeckering. 

He graduated from Central High School then went on to receive an Associate Degree from Brescia Collage.  Donnie was a United States Army Veteran having served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell during Vietnam.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #0009 in Owensboro and was a league pool player in Owensboro.  He was a Shelter Insurance Agent for over 40 years.  Donnie enjoyed woodworking, boating, traveling, and music.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary Lois, Kenneth, and Joseph Yeckering; and grandson, Quenton Starkey.

Donnie is survived by his daughter, Dr. Cindi Starkey (Johnny) and a son, David of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Margaret Bische (Larry), Rose Marie Doss; sister-in-law, Carol Yeckering; and grandchildren, Jonathan, Peyton, Alise Starkey.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314, Rev.
