Donna Jeanne Nance, 73, of Newburgh, passed away Monday, November 1, 2010, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Donna was born, June 2, 1937 in Yankeetown, spending her earliest years with grandparents, Alta and Noble Johnson. She was a graduate of Boonville High School and of Evansville College. Donna retired from the Warrick County School Corporation, having spent the majority of her teaching career at John H. Castle Elementary. She loved her profession, loved her students and touched many lives. When at home, she enjoyed spending time with her family and playing golf. Donna is survived by her husband of 54 years, Maxie; step-brother, Steve Dempsey and family; sons, Mark (Jill), David (Stacie), and Dale (Paula); grandchildren, Krista (Dan) Keesling, Kayla, Sean, Matthew, Brittany, Shelbie, Aubrie, Zachary, Bailey; and great-granddaughter, Maelyn. Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Marianna and step-father, Randall Dempsey. Friends may visit with the family from 4 pm.
