Dorothy Deig, 97, of Evansville, passed
away, Saturday, January 24, 2009 at
Angel River Health and Rehabilitation. She
was born August 11, 1911 in
Morganfield, Kentucky the daughter of
George and Addie (Bolton) Cusic. She
was a homemaker and a lifetime member
of St. Benedict Catholic Church.
Dorothy enjoyed dancing and time with her
children and
great-grand-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
her husband, Carl Deig in 1969;
and her infant daughter, Emily in 1937.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters,
Jeanette Lamp (Jim) of Evansville,
Helen Powell (Clarence) of Newburgh, one
son, Charles Deig (Ruth) of
Evansville; eight grandchildren, Sylvia
Hanna, Gayle Houchin, J. Kendall
Lamp, III., Patti Greer, Angela Gray, Susan
Robbins, Chris Deig, and David
Deig; thirteen geat-grandchildren, Cameron
Lutz, Sarah Lutz, Daniel
Houchin, Erin Houchin, Todd Stephens,
Courtney Wester, Dana Greer, Jared
and Jamie Gray, Jacob, Jason, and Joshua
Robbins, and Victoria Deig; five
great-great-grandchildren, Brayden and
Brooklyn Lutz, Hailey Stephens,
Hayden Wester, and Jaden Gray; sister,
Martha Helen Mills of Lexington,
Kentucky and Eugene Cusic of Pasadena,
California.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt

at Angel River for the loving care given to
Dorothy.
Funeral services will begin with A Mass of
Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.,
Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church, 625
Frame Rd. Newburgh, Indiana. Burial will be
in St. Joseph Cemetery,
Evansville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday,
January 26, 2009 with a Wake
Service at 7:30 p.m. at Titzer Family
Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510
W. Jennings St. Newburgh, Indiana.
Additional visitation will be held from
9 am. to service time on Tuesday at the
church.
