Dorothy Nell Rutt Sweeney Dorothy Nell Rutt Sweeney, 90, of Elberfeld, passed away, Sunday, October 26, 2008 at her daughter's residence in Elberfeld. She was born June 12, 1918 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to Benjamin and Gladys (Walker) Richey. She retired from the Executive Inn in Evansville. Dorothy was baptized at age 88 and joined the First Baptist Church of Elberfeld. She liked to quilt and embroidery and enjoyed spending time with family and also friends at church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Rutt; two daughters, Janet Schaefer & Linda Huffman; son, Frank Rutt; and grandchildren, Christina Rutt and Curtis Rutt. Dorothy is survived by three daughter, Brenda Huntsman (Steve) of Elberfeld, Betty Smith of Evansville, May Kay Albaugh (Charles), Warren, Michigan; two sons, Jerry Rutt (Jackie), Florida, Larry Rutt, (Beverly), Florida; sister, Gernita Hart, Florida; brother, James David Whitmer, Evansville; two step-sons, Lawrence Rutt, Texas and Clarence Rutt, Newburgh; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 30. 2008 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd.& Elm Streets, Elberfeld, Indiana. Reverend David Schultz and Reverend Jack Neighbors will officiate. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2008 and Thursday, 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online @www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
