Dortha N. (Mayhugh) Hankins Dortha N. (Mayhugh) Hankins, 72, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Deaconess Hospice Care. She was born November 6, 1938 in Muhlenberg County, KY to Hobart and Maudie (White) Mayhugh. She graduated from downtown Central High School. She was a nurse for Deaconess Hospital for 29 years. Dortha enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. She loved her family and was a very giving woman to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timothy Hankins; a grandson, Timmy Wharton; sister, Polly. Dortha is survived by her husband of 53 years, Eldon; children, Terry Tillman (Brad), Ricky Hankins (Theresa), and Tracy Wharton (Darren); five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Clemmie Keeton. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Dortha's doctors, especially Dr. Shirey and staff at Deaconess and Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. , Monday, March 7, 2011 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville , IN. Family member George King will officiate with entombment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, 12 p.m. to time of service at the funeral home. Condolences may be made @titzerfuneralhomes.com.
