Edward Eugene Schmitt

Ed Eugene Schmitt, 50, of Chandler, Ind., passed away peacefully after a long illness, Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was born September 19, 1967, in Evansville, to Eugene C. and Irma C. (Ubelhor) Schmitt.

He graduated from Castle High School in 1985.  Ed served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. 

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Eugene “Spuds” Schmitt.  He is survived by his mother, Irma C. (Ubelhor) Schmitt; siblings, Denise Porter of Evansville, Nancy Heald (Matt) of Anderson, Ernie Schmitt (Julie) of Richland, Cathy Jackson of Boonville, Robert Schmitt (Carrie) of Tennyson; and nieces and nephews, Rachel Ruedlinger, Alison Haerle, Mark Porter, Terese Jackson, Kenton Downey, Brad Mckinney.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W.
