Also surviving are four children: David (Joyce) of Granger, IN, Jonathan (Carolyn) of Apex, NC, Nathan (Janell) of Zionsville, IN, and Martha Kloeck (Michael) of Evansville. Ed was the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren (Stephen, deceased, John, Jimmy, Michelle, Chrissy, Anna, Andrew, Wes, Tyler, Madison, and Samantha) and one great-grandchild (Maverick). He loved his family very much. Ed grew up on a farm and came from a large family of 14: 9 brothers (7 surviving) and 5 sisters (4 surviving). Ed graduated from Milford, IL High School and in 1955 from Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, IL with a BS in Education. Ed taught elementary school at Trinity Lutheran School, Vallonia, IN from 1955 to 1961. In 1985, he became meat manager at Meny's in Haubstadt before retiring in 1994. Ed had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville. He was thankful for all God's blessings and was a faithful servant of the Lord, as Sunday School teacher, choir director, and as a church officer. He also used his God-given talents in art and music, creating nearly 500 works of art, mostly paintings on canvas and saw blades that are enjoyed by family and friends today as well as playing piano for many to enjoy. Music was always a part of Ed's life, especially country and gospel. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1925 Volkman Rd.
