Eleanor "Glenn" Tenbarge
Eleanor Glenn (Bryant) Tenbarge 95, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday,
December 14, 2011 at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, and friend. A retired bookkeeper, she was an active genealogist and
contributed many articles that were published in "The Packet", the quarterly
publication of the Tri State Genealogical Society, of which she was a Charter
Member. She was a member of several other genealogical societies, and a member
of the Vanderburgh Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She
published one book, "Early Death Records of Vanderburgh Co.", and received a
"Certificate of Appreciation" from the D A R. She was credited with "saving" a
cemetery of 200 graves adjoining Mater Dei High School. She has been a member of
St. Joseph Catholic Church (city) since 1937.
She is survived by her son, Stan (Bonnie), and her daughter, Nancy, both of
Evansville. Her grandchildren, Karen, Marie, Ken, and Sam, all of Evansville, Kris of
Ohio, Brad of Wisconsin, Jeff of Florida, and Neil of Kentucky, nine great grandsons,
and nine great granddaughters, Daughters-in-law, Henrietta (Hank), of Evansville, and
Janet, of Boonville, and her special caregiver Mary Willett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Anna Bryant; her husband,
Marvin J., her sons, Bradley G., and Harry M., and two sisters, Jane of Texas, and
Geneva of Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Willard Library Special Collections
Department, or Marian Day School.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011 at
St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 E. Virginia St. Evansville, Indiana, with the Rev. Fr.
Eugene A. Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St.
Evansville (812) 424-9274. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, 9 a.m. to
service time at the church.
