Eleanor M. Voyles, 96, of Pensacola, FL, formerly of Elberfeld, IN, passed away, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Pensacola. She was born May 1, 1913 in Cairo, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence and her parents, Woodhull and Sarah (Everett) Underhill. She was a retail clerk for W. T. Grant and J. C. Penny's. She was a former member of Barnett Chapel Church in Elberfeld and she loved needle work. Over the years, Eleanor and her husband, Clarence, cared for many children who needed food or a roof over their heads, for which they never received payment of any kind. Later in life their children followed their example and became foster or adoptive parents. Eleanor is survived by six children, Robert Voyles, Roy Voyles, Janice Voyles, James Voyles, Donald Voyles, and Margaret Johnson; sister, Violet Reed. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Barnett Chapel Church in Elberfeld. Burial will be in Barnett Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, 9 a.m. to service time at the church. Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, Elberfeld, is handling arrangements. There is no visitation at the funeral home.
