Elizabeth M. Cox, 82, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. Elizabeth was born December 9, 1939 in Evansville to the late Frank and Ruby (Pruitt) Mohr. 

Elizabeth was a 1957 graduate of Memorial High School and received her Master's Degree at The University of Evansville. She was a school teacher at Warrick County School Corporation for 43 years. Elizabeth owned and trained Thoroughbred Race horses and owned Lucky Streak Farm.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, and son, Anthony (Tony) Cox.
She is survived by her brother, Frank M. (Dottie) Mohr, granddaughter, Alexandria Cox, grandson, Montana Halterman, great grandchildren; Jameson Levitt, Melody Halterman, daughter in law, Michaele Cox, niece, Dana Mohr (Paul) Cyr, nephew, Mike (Lisa) Mohr, great nieces and nephews, Grace, Aidan, Quinn, Asher, cousin, Sister Michelle Mohr, and special friend of 50 years Don Fisher.

A prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, IN  47630 (812) 853-8314. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.

The family would like to thank St. Vincent's cardiac and oncology units for their special care. Donations may be made in memory to the Humane Society.
