Elizabeth Marie Pazera, 94, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. She was born in Hammond, IN, on April 27, 1930, to William and Delight "Dee" (North) Carlin.
Elizabeth was married to her husband, Anthony I. Pazera, on October 6, 1951, at Holy Angles Catholic Church in Gary, IN. She graduated from Bishop Noll High School in Hammond, IN and attended St. Mary’s Catholic College in South Bend, IN, where she received her associate degree in English, and she was a bookkeeper for Bell Telephone for many years. Elizabeth was always one to give back to those in need, and she showed it by volunteering for the Cancer Society and supporting organizations such as Little Sisters of the Poor, and CASA. She was an avid Notre Dame Irish fan and caught every game. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her. She was dedicated to the family and a pillar of strength and support for all of us. She was always quick to hug and loved with a ferociousness that is rarely seen today.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Susan (Gary) Gilbert; grandchildren David (Karen)
Gilbert, Theresa (Dr. Howard) Heerdt, Erick Gilbert, and John (Julia) Runland; sisters Barbara Ditter, Lois Martin, and Rita Lynch; and great grandchildren Brenna, Howie, Hazel, Amanda, Heidi, Xavier, Zoey, Xander, Olivia, Mila, Lily and John; and many other relatives that loved her.
She was preceded in death by her sister Margie Hubbell, her parents, husband, Anthony I. Pazera, son, Robert A. Pazera, and
her granddaughter, Annie Runland.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh, IN 47630, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. John the Baptist Mausoleum.
