Elmer Ora Schwiersch
Elmer Ora Schwiersch, 85 of Haubstadt, Indiana, passed away at 9 a.m.,
Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.
Elmer was born on June 4, 1923, in Haubstadt to Sylvester and Rosetta
Schwiersch. A farmer his entire life, Elmer enjoyed working the land. He
could often be found visiting with family and friends while riding his Gator. He
was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of
the Free Masons.
Elmer is survived and loved by his wife of 62 years, Viola Schwiersch; two
daughters, Brenda (Duane) Erwin and Donna (Hubert) Kruse all of Elberfeld;
one son, Larry (Andrea) Schwiersch of Haubstadt; grandchildren, Nicole
(Lonnie) Ziliak, Amie (Mike) Hulfachor, Steffney (Lenny Champa) Kruse,
Lauren Schwiersch, and Alicia Schwiersch; great-grandchildren, Kyler
Duncan, Kendall Hulfachor, Brylee Ziliak, and Kyra Champa. He is also
survived by his sister, Anna Mary Holtz and nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Harold Schwiersch.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Streets Elberfeld,
Indiana (812) 983-4211, with Pastor Steve Oeth officiating. Burial will be in
Tabor Cemetery in Gibson County.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009 and on
Thursday, 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
