Esther (Morrison) Sprengel Kemp, 87, of Boonville, Ind., went to be with her
Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Woodmont Health
Campus in Boonville.
She was born August 8, 1925 in Lurgan, Northern Ireland to Richard and
Elizabeth (Black) Morrison. In 1944 she met and married her husband,
Arthur Kemp, in Northern Ireland, during WWII while he was serving in the
United States Army. She came with Arthur, to the United States, and
became a U.S. citizen. When her children were young, she enjoyed going
to their schools singing Irish songs and telling stories about her beloved
homeland in Northern Ireland.
She was a member of Brown Chapel Ministries, and of the Baptist Faith.
She retired from the dietary department of the Warrick County Hospital.
The family would like to thank Woodmont Health Campus and staff for their
excellent care.
Esther lived with and was cared for by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda
and Jerry Rogers for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st. husband, Arthur Kemp;
2nd. husband, Paul Sprengel; two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by son, Randy Kemp (Jackie) of Yankeetown; four
daughters, Jean Chambers (Jim) of Newburgh, Karen Thomson (Cecil) of
Boonville, Linda Rogers (Jerry) of Boonville, and Colleen Seeling of
Shelbyville, Ind.; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Morrison and May Armstrong
of Northern Ireland, and Richard Morrison of Ontario, Canada.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh,
Ind. Rev. Gilbert Powell and Rev. Brad Kemp will officiate with burial to
follow in Bates Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, from 4 p.m. to
8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
