Esther Harms
Esther Harms, 92, of Evansville, passed
away Wednesday, January 14, 2009,
at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation
Center surrounded by her family.
She was born April 21, 1916, to Oatley and
Edith Whipking. She graduated
from Central High School, and belonged to
the First Pentecostal Church on
Elliott St. Esther was a Surg tech working at
Deaconess Hospital for 15
years, retiring in 1981, and also a member
of Helping Hands, then she
worked at McCurdy Health Care.
Esther is preceded in death by husband,
Floyd Greer Harms, in 1947, her
son, Jerald Lee Harms, in 1998, her
grandson, Scott Harms, in 1993, and her
brother, Roy Whipking, in 1975.
She is survived by her son and daughter in
law, Larry and Mary Harms, of
Mt. Vernon, Indiana, and her daughter and
son in law, Teresa and Paul
Ambrose, of Hatfield, Indiana, 10
grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 8
great-great grandchildren, and her sister,
Betty Grebb, of Evansville.
Funeral services for Esther will be 10 a.m.,
Saturday, January 17, 2009, at
Titzer Family Funeral Homes, 100 E.
Columbia St., Evansville, Indiana,
(812) 424-9288, Rev. Jack Feldbusch will
officiate with burial following at
Locust Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the
funeral home.
