Evelyn Marie (Palmer) Bethel, 87, of Evansville, passed away, September 10, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born February 22, 1923 in Evansville to George J. and Edith E. (Barnett) Palmer. She was a 1941 graduate of Central High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in the city where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was the Administrative Assistant from 1986 to 2003. She was also, a member of St. Ann Altar Society and VFW Ladies Auxiliary #1114. She worked as an accounting supervisor for Sears Roebuck for 26 years and was a volunteer at St. Mary's Family Practice for the last 7 years. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Bethel in 1988; brother, James Palmer in 1995. She is survived by one son, David Lee Bethel (Donna) of Evansville; one daughter, Karen Ann Seib (Dennis) of Newburgh; grandchildren, Mark and Nick Seib, Brian Bethel and Briana Ormes; great- grandchildren, Lindsay and Zac Seib, Kale and Mason Ormes; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 E. Virginia St. Evansville, IN. Rev. Father Schroeder will officiate with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN (812) 424-9274, with a rosary service at 6:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
