Evelyn Jean Butcher Evelyn Jean Butcher, 83, of Elberfeld, IN, passed away, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born on October 21, 1926 in Elberfeld to Ferdinand and Ethel (Demick) Bethe. She was a member of the United States Air Forces serving from 1944 to 1946. Evelyn was a member of the American Legion Post #351 in Elberfeld and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herschel L. Butcher; brothers and sisters, Harvey, Alfred, and Orvil Bethe, Ferdinand Bethe, Jr., Josephine Butsch, and Opal Barton. Evelyn is survived by children, Brenda Goff (Mahlon) of Boonville, IN, Owen Butcher (Tammy) of Lynnville, IN, Raymond Butcher, of Elberfeld, IN, Rhonda Georges ( Bill) of Elberfeld, IN; grandchildren, Derrick Butcher (Libby) of Lynnville, IN, Cory Butcher of Lynnville, and Johnathan Georges of Elberfeld, IN; great-grandchild, Dane Butcher; brother, Lowell Bethe and sister, Wanda "Tudy" Bethe. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd. & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, IN. Reverend Steve Oeth will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. The Elberfeld American Legion Post #351 will conduct military graveside rites.
