Evelyn Mae Kissel, 80, passed away, Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center. She was born September 28, 1933, in Princeton, Ind., to Gerald M. and Mabel Marie (Miskell) Newnum.
She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and the Elderberries Club at church. Evelyn was a member of the VFW #1114 Ladies Auxiliary from 1998-2004, the Ladies Eagles Auxiliary from 2001-2007, and a member of the Organ Club. She worked at Chayes-Virginia, Aramark Uniform, and was a greeter at Wal-Mart. Evelyn loved to sew, paint, play her organ, and enjoyed her family.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard E. Kissel; and her daughter, Rebecca Wade. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Hames of Newburgh; daughter, Carolyn Kennebeck; son, Donald E. Kissel both of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Newnum of Boonville.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville, Ind., (812) 424-9288. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
