Floyd A. Hamm, 93, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville, IN. He was born May 12, 1921 in Arthur, IN to Lester and Lola (Eads) Hamm. He attended Otwell High School. He served with the United States Navy Seabees during WWII in Okinawa, Japan. Floyd retired from the L & N Railroad after 39 years working as a carman and an engineer on the wrecker. He loved bass fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and half brother, Danny Hamm. Floyd is survived by his wife of 75 years, Ethel (Nelson) Hamm; daughter, Yvonne Block (Randy), son Robert Hamm (Karen), son, Rev. Dr. Larry Hamm (Saundra), daughter, Patricia Gillies (Don), half sister, Sally Hamm; 10 grandchildren, Cindi Thompson, Kelly Rassmussen, Cary Block, Christine Cornett, David Hamm, Tamara Miller, Todd Hamm, Christopher Hamm, Shawn Underdown, and Rochelle McDonald; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandhildren.
Services will be held at 12 noon, with visitation starting at 10 a.m., on Saturday November 29, 2014 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314. Rev. Dr. Larry Hamm will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by the Warrick County Veterans.
