Freddie R. Ausbrooks
Freddie R. Ausbrooks, 63, of Newburgh, passed away, Tuesday, July 28,
2009, at his residence. He was born, August 2, 1945 in Logan County,
Kentucky.
He graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School. He retired in 2000 from
Alcoa Aluminum after 32 years as a mechanic. He was a member of
Morningside Presbyterian Church. From 2007 to 2009, he made mission
trips and worked at the Lakota Reservation in Pine Ridge, SD. He was a
Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Marine Corp from 1966 to
1968, and he was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion
Kapperman Post # 44, Forty & 8, in Newburgh, and the Boonville VFW.
Fred is survived by his wife, Carol Gardner Ausbrooks; sons, Brett
Ausbrooks (Tara) of Maricopa, AZ, and Michael Scott Ausbrooks of
Newburgh; daughters, Tina McKeethen (Jason) of Rockport, IN, and Jamie
Ausbrooks of Newburgh; grandchildren, R.C., Bailey, Kaleb, Jacob, and J.T.
He was a loving husband, father, and doting grandfather and will be greatly
missed by his family and friends, especially his silly grin and teasing nature.
He was loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Newburgh Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh,
IN. Reverend John Loveless and Reverend James Messer will officiate. The
American Legion Kapperman Post # 44 will conduct military rites at the
funeral home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to time of service at the funeral
home.
