Genevieve Thompson Howard
Genevieve Thompson Howard, 91, passed away, Friday, April 3, 2009 at
Newburgh Health Care. She was born February 2, 1918 in Whitesville,
Kentucky to Ralph and Eva (Church) Thompson. She attended grade school
at St. Mary of the Woods in Whitesville. Genevieve was a lifelong member of
St. Joseph Catholic Church in the city. She was head of the bakery
department at the University of Evansville for many years and for ten years,
she worked for Ben Franklin at the Weinbach Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Francis
C. Howard, died December 24, 1988; infant children, Donald Ray Howard
and Lisa Marie Howard; brothers, Lewis and Emil Thompson; sisters, Lucille
Carrico, Ruby Aud and Ernestine Higdon.
Genevieve was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and dear friend to
many.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Kohl (John) of Evansville, Mary Diane
Hunt of Evansville; one son, Russel M. Howard (Connie)of Newburgh; one
brother, Herman Thompson of Whitesville; five grandchildren, Linette
Bullington, Jeffrey Kohl, Amanda Hunt, Kevin Howard, and Emily Howard;
four great-grandchildren, Josh Horn, Brandon Kohl, Justin Kohl, and Arianna
Hunt; one great-great-grandchild, Avery Horn.

loving care they gave our mom.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St.
Evansville, Indiana. (812) 424-9274. Rev. Fr. Ted Tempel will officiate. Burial
will be in Whitesville, Kentucky at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 with a
rosary service at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be
from 9 a.m. to service time on Tuesday.
Following the burial the family wishes for their friends and family to join them
for a dinner and celebration of Genevieve's life to be held at 3 p.m. at the
Titzer Family Funeral Homes Family Center at the Newburgh Chapel, 510 W.
Jennings St. Newburgh, Indiana.
