Gerald E. Garnett
Gerald E. Garnett, 77, of Roswell, NM,
formerly of Gentryville, IN., passed away on
Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Roswell
Regional Hospital. Gerald was born on
June 24, 1930 in Spencer County, IN to
Allie T. and Gertrude (McLaughlin) Garnett.
He was a retired Master Sergeant from the
United States Air Force and a GS12 from
the Federal Government as an OSHA
Inspector. He attended Oakland City
College and Arkansas State University. He
was a member of the DAV and enjoyed
doing lapidary work with stones. He was a
member of the Masonic Lodge and was a
Mason. He had also been a Baptist
Preacher for many years, working
throughout many cities in the US.
He is preceded in death by his parents,
Allie and Gertrude Garnett, two brothers;
Robert and John Garnett, and two sisters;
Anna Garnett and Mary Stevens.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary
(Jeffries) Garnett of Evansville, IN, his sister,
June Bickford of Columbus, OH and several
loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.,
Tuesday, May 13, at Titzer Family Funeral
Homes-Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings
St., Newburgh, and IN. Reverend Robert
Nall will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill
Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday,
May 12, 2008 and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to
time of service at the funeral home.
