Gregory C. Betz, 62, long time funeral director of Evansville, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Evansville on December 31, 1957 to Clifford Oswald Betz and Sylvia (Barnett) Betz Collins. Greg graduated from Boonville High School in 1976. He attended U of E majoring in physical education and was an athletic trainer. He later transferred to VU in Vincennes. He finished his education and graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service at Jeffersonville, IN. in 1982.
A fourth-generation funeral director, (his great-grandfather, Orby Barnett and grandfather, Alvin Barnett started Barnett & Son Funeral Home in Boonville). Greg was formerly the manager at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel. In June of 2006 he joined the staff at Titzer Family Funeral Homes. Greg was a devoted member of the Titzer “Family” business. His attention to detail and compassion to families was always his priority. Greg was also dedicated to the Best Friends Pet Services and always went out of his way to accommodate pet families.
Greg was a member of St. Joseph (in the city) Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John, and the 3rd. and 4th. Degree Knights of Columbus.

Greg is survived by his wife, Carol; brother, Graden E. Betz (Joan) of Houston, TX; sister, Greta L. Betz (Jon) of Boonville; nephews, Grant Betz (Becky) , Justin Betz (Lauren), Matthew Smith (Jesse); great-niece and great-nephews, Hale Betz, Gage Smith, Isabella Betz, and Cody Betz; step-mother, Ramona Betz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday March 14, 2020 at All Saints Parish St. Joseph Church Campus, 600 E. Virginia St. Evansville, IN.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville, IN.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m., Friday March 13, 2020 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN (812) 424-9274. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, 9 a.m. to mass time at the church.
