Halleck E. Lamar, 83, of Elberfeld, Ind., passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011
at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City, Ind. He was born, April 15, 1928
in Perry County, Ind. to Ferdinand and Mary Lamar. He was a Korean War Veteran
and a member of the Elberfeld American Legion Post#351 and the VFW Post#123.
He was a retired over the road truck driver for A & H Truck Lines. He enjoyed the
outdoors and gardening.
Halleck was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 50 years, Beth.
He is survived by three children, Debra Lynn Lamar of Princeton, Ind., Ferdinand
Lamar (Susan) of Lebanon, Ill., and Halleck Gene Lamar ( Evelyn Whelan) of
Elberfeld; three grandchildren, Jason (Lauren), Justin and Brandi Lamar; great-
grandson, Chase Jordan Lamar; siblings, Jane Baker of Arizona and Ada Hoover of
Evansville.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2011 at Titzer Family Funeral
Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd. & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, Ind. Reverend Steve Oeth
will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Military
graveside rites will be conducted by the Elberfeld American Legion.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2011 and Monday 10
a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
