Harriett Higdon, 99, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Walnut Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center.

She was born in Hodgenville, KY on November 25, 1918 to the late Ed Smith and Esther (Morrison) Hubbard.  Harriett was a bookkeeper for the Vanderburgh County Treasurer’s Office and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Higdon. 

She is survived by her brother, Ben Hubbard; children, Charles Higdon (Joan), Chester Higdon (Norma), Joseph Higdon (Nancy), Dorothy Kaiser (Kenneth), James Higdon (Melanie); grandchildren, Nathan, June, Lisa, Michele, Michael, Matthew, Amanda, Travis, Tessa, Shaun, Alicia, Kristie, Tanner, Anna, DeLanie; great-grandchildren, Sara, Samuel, Joshua, Bekah, Julia, Kathryn, Huidí, Rheddyn, Jackson, Rylan, Jori, Sam, Brayden, Jesse, Alec, Jaret, Lilah, Seth, Aaliyah, Sophie.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2018 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314.  Father Joseph Ziliak will officiate and entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.  Visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday and 10 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.  Sympathy wishes to the family may be shared at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
