Helen Yeaton Helen G. Yeaton, 96, of Laverne California, formally of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009, at Wood Memorial Nursing Home in Laverne, Calif. She was born in Newburgh, Indiana, on April 29, 1912, to Carl R. and Mildred (Leach) Geiss. Ms. Yeaton had a master?s degree and was a Spanish teacher. She spoke four different languages and was a member of the 100 Country Travel Club. She is survived by her nephew, Jim Geiss (Rosemary) of Evansville; great- nephews, Gregory James Geiss, Joseph Nicholas Geiss and Fredric Jerome Geiss; great-niece, Gloria Cecelia Collins; and eight great-great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, in Rose Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by the Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Indiana (812) 853-8314. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church Food Pantry. Condolences may be made online at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
