Helen Marie Glover

Helen Marie (Madden) Phelps Glover, 73, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at her home with loved ones by her side after a year-long battle with cancer.  She was born on January 22, 1944, in Newburgh to the late Elmer Madden, Sr. and Ada L. (Taylor) Madden.  She was in the third graduating class from Castle High School.  She was a manager with KFC from 1973 to her retirement in 2009, lovingly known as “Chicken Lady”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elmer Madden, Jr. and Howard Madden.

Helen is survived by two sons, Darrel Phelps, Jr. (Jennifer) of Newburgh; Rex Phelps (Debbie) of Evansville; grandchildren, Michael, Kendra, Ryan, Rachel; great-granddaughter, Jaylee; sister, Dorothy Madden of Boonville; and significant other, Larry Bolton of Boonville. 

A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2017, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
