Irene Emerson Chapman, 95, of Newburgh, IN, formerly of Smiths Grove, KY, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, October 12, 2013 in Newburgh, IN. Irene was born October 26, 1917 in Smiths Grove, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Eura (Duff) and Will Emerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Benton Chapman in 1967. Irene is survived by her daughter , Mozelle Chapman Starinieri, son, Roger Dennis Chapman (Georgia); eight grandchildren, Joe Starinieri (Pam), Tim Starinieri, Mike Starinieri (Robin), Julie Starinieri Bass (Jeff), Mary Starinieri Plunkett (Kevin), Kathy Chapman Hirsch (Bob), Denise Chapman Bartholomew, and Jim Chapman (Jenny). She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314. Additional visitation will be held at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, 3098 Louisville Rd. Bowling Green, Ky on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Hardy & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Smiths Grove, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Joe Starinieri, Tim Starinieri, Jim Chapman, Bob Hirsch, Michael McLaughlin and Jordan Chapman.
