Iris G. Mann

Iris G. (Elton) Mann, age 95, of Delta, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday afternoon, July 24, 2019, at a nursing facility in Newburgh, Indiana.  She was born September 3, 1923 in Swanton, Ohio to Homer and Murtie (Oberla) Elton.  She was a 1941 graduate of Swanton High School, and married Adam Leon Mann on December 21, 1943.  He preceded her in death on May 9, 2004.

Iris worked as a clerk and treasurer for the Swanton Local School District.  She and her late husband spent the winters in Winter Haven Florida.  They also enjoyed fishing in Canada.  She would tell her family she hoped there was fishing in heaven.  Besides fishing, she also enjoyed quilting and knitting.  Iris attended the Swanton Church of the Nazarene.

Iris is survived by her children, Linda Garmenn of Delta, Ohio, Gretchen (Gary) Meller of Newburgh, IN, Burton (Eileen) Mann of Delta, OH and Barton (De) Mann of Wytheville, VA; 10 grandchildren, Annette (Jon) Todd, Dawn (Tom) Price, Elizabeth Garmenn, Patience Garmenn, Todd (Kristina) Meller, Jennifer Meller (Bobbi Montgomery), Jeff (Amanda) Mann, Cassandra (Vic) Hartzell, Christopher Mann and Kari (Anthony) Thomas; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Dail Stutzman of Wauseon, OH; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband of 60 years, Adam, Iris was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Peggy Mann; son-in-law, Philip Garmenn and her sister, Alice Wood.
