Jack Lee Harris, 82, passed away, Wednesday, December 2, 2015, with his loving family by his side. He was born September 7, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Leroy and Lucinda (Sinclair) Harris. Jack and his loving wife Joyce moved to Evansville in 1957 to begin his career in the sign business at Sign Crafters as plant manager, finally retiring from Ad Craft in 2004.
Jack was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His pride and joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. Jack’s hobbies included fishing, camping, and playing cards with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a hand and add a perfectionist’s touch to any project. He was a member of Zion UCC in Evansville, where he served on the board of trustees.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Harris; son, Dirk Jay Harris (Amy); daughter, Michele Lynn Daum (Brian); six grandchildren, Joshua, Courtney, Seth (Erin), Abby, Isabella, Griffin; and sister, Charlene Jones.
The family would like to thank Dr. Allaw and Deaconess GW Neuro staff for their compassionate care, and Barbara and Scott Hasselbrink for their love and support.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Zion UCC, 415 NW 5th St., Evansville, Ind. with Pastor Kimron Reising officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, Ind.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel. 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind., and again from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
