James “Fred” Boyd

James S. Boyd, age 76 years old, of Evansville, IN passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at home. He was born on June 25, 1945 in Jefferson County, KY to the late James and Ola (Withers) Thornton.

James served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked as a lineman for PPG, with many years of service. James loved Gospel music and playing the organ at Christ Gospel. He loved his children and enjoyed going to Jeffersonville with family.

James is survived by his wife of 32 years Teresa (Davidson) Boyd, three sons; Alex Boyd, Ryan Boyd, and Jammie Thornton, daughter, Jaunett Stovall and grandson Gavin Boyd. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm. at Christ Gospel Church, 2301 E. Riverside Dr. Evansville, IN 47714 officiated by Rev. Sharon Spicer. A visitation will be an hour prior to church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville.
