James L. Moore, 84, of Carmi passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 in Newburgh, IN. He was born Sept. 4, 1931, to the late Raymond and Bina (Desper) Moore.
Jim served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a proud member of the American Legion for 60 years. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Moore.
Jim is survived by his step-daughter, Vickie Connelly of Newburgh, IN; step-grandchildren, Kevin Connelly of Evansville, IN and Ashley Connelly-Kinsey (Justin) of Newburgh, IN; step-great-grandchildren, Ian, Lauryn, Abigail and Franklin; and siblings, Doug Moore (Wilma) of Carmi and Maxine Thompson of Gerard, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the American Legion in Carmi on Friday, March 25, 2016. Rev. Harrison Peyton will be officiating. Friends may visit from 1 to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local Humane Society.
