James R. Hines, Sr., 72, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away, Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at his home. He was born April 8, 1943, to Jesse and Eva (Mansfield) Hines.
He graduated from Castle High School in 1962. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1999. He delivered mail to both Newburgh and Richland. James was a former president of the Jaycee’s. He was also a member of the Newburgh Moose. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, boating, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, and his beloved dog, Hero.
James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra (Williams); son, James Jr. (Jolene) of Newburgh; daughter, Tina Sidor (Brian) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kyle Current, Kambria Daily (Alan), Mckenzi Sidor, Briley Sidor, Dakota Hines, Kasey Hines; great-grandson, Levi James Daily; sister, Shirley McWilliams (Larry); and brother, Jesse Hines (Gene).
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, Ind. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, and 10 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.
